Fissure Seals

Prevention is better than cure and placing a fissure seal on a new molar is the way to prevent dental decay in that tooth. The procedure is simple and painless. It involves cleaning out the grooves of the tooth, then flowing a white or tooth-coloured composite resin into the grooves which is then set hard. This results in a flat surface which has less chance of catching plaque.
