Examination and X-Rays

Current guidelines recommend thorough examination of teeth, gums and soft tissues every six months. This enables us to detect problems whilst they are still small and hence easier to treat, and less expensive. We check for dental caries (decay) gum disease, broken fillings, oral cancer, infections etc.

Where necessary, Xrays (radiographs) are taken to detect problems not visible to the eye, or to determine how advanced problems are. We have digital Xrays equipment which uses the lowest dose of radiation possible . Bitewing Xrays are taken at least once every 18 – 24 months.
